The washing machine washes my clothes very well. I especially appreciate the soak and extra rinse feature for dirty clothes. I enjoy the no nonsense approach to washing clothes that newer washing machines lack. Most everything is built well. My biggest issue is with the stainless steel tub. The tub is welded together in two sections and is pitted and not smooth. The machine in the store did not have this problem. Speed Queen was happy to send a tech out to take a look. The tech said I was better off dealing with it and verbatim said "if I start to tear your machine down to replace the tub, there is not a 100% guarantee I can put everything back to factory specs. You may have alignment issues after my repair" I don't believe Speed Queen approves his message but I understood the tech as being somewhat lazy and wanting to end the service call and get paid. The tub is rough all along the edge, my finger nails catch on it and it is somewhat sharp.

I love my new Speed Queen. It gives you more water fill, great agitation, and a cycle finishes in half the time of other brand machines, yet my clothes come out cleaner. It also spins more water out of it, so clothes take less dryer time. I'm able to do all my laundry in half the time. Also, I love that there is no lid lock, so I can add a few items that I forgot, yet for safety the machine stops when you lift the lid. I've been spreading the word to all my family and friends. In my opinion, this is the best washing machine on the market!!

Best choice compared to computer operated junk

The machine is a little noisy, but works flawlessly, considerably faster than the computer operated junk that stops and does not go again or it waits forever. Used it only a couple of times before my daughter came up from Louisiana and bought a bunch of garage sales stuff and had the thing running constantly for almost a week and a half. Can do five loads in the time it took to do one load with the old computer operated junk. Have time now to do other things in the day besides washing all day!

10/5 stars. After hours of research leading me back to the TC5, we finally joined the Speed Queen family. We've had them for over two months and I'm fully convinced that our old Samsung did not even clean our clothes. The TC5 handles anything I throw at it with ease. I love how easy it is to touch the bottom of the drum to grab clothes and the agitator cleans everything SO well. We had issues with uneven/unbalanced loads previously and I've never once had an issue with the TC5. Blankets, filled to the brim with towels, you name it…it can handle it. When you feel the drum and how well built it is you understand. One of the things I had heard while researching was that the TC5 couldn't handle a king comforter… but I was able to wash my king quilt comforter easily so it just depends on the thickness and how you load it. I genuinely love my speed queens and recommend them to anyone who listens. 30 min cycle times. Made in USA. Truly, as a busy mom and professional….thank you Speed Queen. You've made my life so much easier and what was once my least favorite thing to do is now fast, east, and enjoyable.

Unfortunately we have been a little disappointed. I was sick of going through $500 washing machines so that's why we bought the Speed Queen. A few days after we go it, we noticed water on the floor. A service man came out and said it wasn't level so he releveled it again. Everything was okay for a few days and the load apparently got unbalanced and it walked itself out in to the middle of the floor. I pushed it back and leveled it myself this time. Not every load but it's still leaking water on the floor, VERY DISAPPOINTED after spending $1,500.

Our Maytag that we owned for 15 + years died over 25 years ago and we had struggled with the dependability of several replacement washers of different manufacturers ever since. We decide to find a washing machine that has the durability that we have been seeking. The Speedqueen although very low tech (which is very refreshing) cleans, is durable, and very efficient. I hope our machine lasts as long as many other's who have bought one does. We are very happy with our decision. When our dryer fails( which is inevitable since we have had to already replace the heating element after 3 years of ownership) we will purchase a Speedqueen dryer. I love this washer! I had forgotten how easy laundry is when the machine uses actual water and cycles are quick and efficient because of it. Great for five years then caught on fire.

Was great for the first 5 years and 3 weeks. Then the washer caught on fire. A shirt sleeve was caught in between the "washer drum" and the outer portion of the drum. Something caught the sleeve and started making a lot of smoke. It actually set off fire alarm. Would not honor the warranty as it was three weeks past. Now I'm stuck with this washer.

Cleans quickly - drying a problem.

So happy to finally have a beautiful matching washer/dryer set. But, I am disappointed. I was convinced I was getting the very best, but some things are making me wonder. The washer doesn't spin the clothes well enough and then I have to repeat dryer cycles in order to get the clothes dry; even then damp spots remain. I tried repeating the spin cycle, which helps very little. I would love to know how to better use this product, or to know if there is something wrong.

We had a Sears Roebuck washer for almost 30 years but it finally conked out. Replaced it with a GE that seemed like the old style, but was not. It barely covered the clothes with water, went off balance more than not, then before 5 years was up, no longer even agitated!! I read up on machines and ALL the repairmen rated this washer as the best. I couldn't agree more!!! Simple, very sturdy and works perfectly!! It is worth the extra cost!

This is absolutely like the old days. You push a button & the washing machine begins to fill with water & then proceeds to wash your clothes. Just like it was always supposed to. I am tired of todays ridiculous standard brand garbage where you have electronic control panels with 6 buttons including a lid lock & the useless auto load sensing nonsense. All they do is break & have errors. I love this machine, it works great. I am 70 and would not be suprised if this machine outlives me. I would be fine with that, never having to a buy another washing machine the rest of my life & then pass it on.
