Been using for 1 month now and all works as intended. It's a large freezer with plenty of shelves and trays. Digital readout on front is for set point only and really useless IMO...why not show temperature instead??? Did price match at HD with another local company.

We have only had this garage ready freezer for a short time, but so far it is wonderful. I love the size - It has so much room. We spent 3 years looking for a replacement freezer. This one fit all of our requirements.

I purchased this after another competitor sent three freezers out damage. I review the reviews and thought I would try this. To my surprise the item was well package and the freezer was up and running. The features to this freezer was was thought out and I prefer the interior to other models. We have been looking for an upright freezer for quite some time and realized this freezer was the one for us based on what we currently find on the market. Whoever designed the layout of this freezer kept the use of space in mind, so this particular freezer is a standout when comparing it with other freezers. It was also a standout because of the fact that it has glass shelving and that was a requirement for us. If we could change one thing about this freezer it would be to add some depth. When we compare this freezer to my mother's GE upright freezer that she has owned for many years, it is noticeable that her freezer is taller and much deeper. More depth would make a huge difference!

We needed a new freezer to hold a large meat purchase and this was perfect for our needs. The glass shelves are adjustable and easy to clean. Large bottom basket for storage is great. Very easy to identify the different products with the spacious shelving. Love that the instant read temp is located on the outside of the door. I couldn't be more pleased with this G. E. upright freezer. It's just what I was looking for.

What a change in tech and design. I just elevated to a new GE upright freezer from and old chest freezer. Frost free! Hallelujah and so easy to find anything in this freezer. The storage and organization variables are super too. I am sure we will enjoy this new appliance for many years to come.

Installation was simple. I set the temperature to -20C, and the freezer was able to adjust to the temperature within a few hours. I love that the freezer has an automatic lock when you close the freezer, decreasing the likelihood for the freezer door to remain open. The freezer is being used in a research lab, so the secure lock is highly valuable. Regarding issues, the door handle was difficult to install because it did not perfectly align the length of the holes for it. It is also not as spacious as we thought since the back of the freezer on the inside is not completely flat. Despite these issues, we can adapt them, and we are overall satisfied with the purchase.

Purchased from Lowes. Arrived much sooner than expected. No issues with installation. Instructions are simple for setup/cleaning/using. Controls are on the door, don't have to stand with it open to change settings/operate.
In a garage at an average 80 to 85 degrees in the summer. Freezer is half full currently and using an average of 1.1 to 1.2 kwh per day. Thermometer on the door is accurate to analog Thermometer I placed inside.

This is a large freezer that isn't too bad on electric. It gets and stays nice and cold, and isn't too noisy. If I had one complaint, it would be that the door seals so tight that the force required to open it causes the entire freezer to slide. I could probably solve this by putting the feet on rubber gripper thingers if this gets to be too much of a pain.

I was pleased to see that the energy rating was on the low end while the capacity was on the high side. I like the glass shelves over our previous wire shelf model. I also like the audible hi-temp alarm (that can be silenced if desired). With the turbo-freeze mode, the freezer got down to temp in less than the 4 hours indicated. As a bonus, I discovered after purchasing it that it is "garage-ready" meaning it is designed to handle higher/lower external temperatures without suffering damage.

Loads of room! Spacious Shelves, drawers and compartments. Frost free, Garage Ready, very quiet, bright light comes on when you open the door. What sold me was the door has an alarm if door is left open or it drops below freezing as this freezer is in a detached garage. The freezer has a side door lock to make sure it properly closed. We also love the digital status display on the front of the door! Love the new GE Freezer!!

Good quality construction and shelves. I like the external digital temperature display and setting. Roomy. Door is difficult to open because it is so tight that you pull it away from the wall trying to open it. But, it rolls easily. Electric bill went down. Overall it was worth the two month wait.
