I love everything about this freezer. It's quiet. Food freezes quickly. I don't have to do any hard cleaning as it's frost free; just wipe the shelves down. The only problem I have is opening the door. It has a good seal. There is only two of us so this freezer is plenty big. I love GE products.

The freezer is great and cooled down fast. The inside is spacious, and nice to have shelves and drawers too! Was disappointed with the delivery, as it was just that, a drop, plug and go™¦ didn™™t even level it! The freezer was purchased as a ™scratch and dent™ and spots were circled with a red marker/crayon that did not clean off! I tried numerous cleaning chemicals without success! Thankfully, it is a garage freezer, but was disappointing to have several red circles remaining!

I wanted to give it 5 stars but the freezer is only 5 months old and keep running hot and now is not cooling at all! I chatted with a technician, who suggested that I make an appointment, which I did, and in the meantime to use dry ice. The entire ordeal has been a nightmare!

We bought this to replace a 30+ year old freezer we had in the garage. That was before the days of "garage ready" freezers.
Even in the high (90+) temperatures we've had lately this freezers temperature has maintained 0 degrees.
The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of five is the lower storage drawers. Our old freezer had one the full width of the freezer. This has 2 separate ones which slightly lowers the total capacity. A small prize to pay for a great freezer.

This freezer's compressor failed after just two years and the cost to repair exceeded the cost to buy another one. If you buy this freezer, I definitely would buy the extended warranty as it wasn't built to last!

GE website is not a very user-friendly website. I tried to register my new GE freezer I just purchased this month. And registration of the product was like pulling teeth. There is a lot of dead links on the website. You can't log in, and can't create an account and therefore can't register. After so many trial and error clicks, I managed to log in as guest and registered. It was no so easy or should I say super difficult.

Fine freezer while it worked, although easy for things to get hidden, BIG PROBLEM is that it died on us 2 years and 10 months after purchase!! Retailer says no warrantee for the PREMATURE FAILURE--more expensive to replace compressor than buy a replacement.
You can be sure it wont be a GE!

Our 3 month old freezer is not maintaining a consistent temperature. We began seeing frost on items inside and called the appliance store from whom we bought it. The technician used the diagnostic tool and said all was fine. We bought an electronic thermometer which shows a very inconsistent temperature without the door being opened. We need help.

We really like this freezer so far. Been about a month. Temperature outside on door says 0 but I got 3 Temperature gauges inside showing 3 to 5 degrees colder. The seal on the door looks very thin, but it creates a strong seal cause it takes some effort to open. Good bright light inside too. Really quiet. Wish I can clean the condenser coils but they are inexcessable to humans buried in the sides of the freezer. We'll see if any problems occur. Just had it for about a month.

Freezer freezes and so far so good. Problem is the freezer legs. They do not grip the floor very well and when you open the freezer door, the entire unit slides. Had to lift and add rubber stoppers to keep unit in place. This failure to stay stabile when opening needs correction. If corrected by whoever manufactures this for GE, I would rate this unit 5 stars

Only just received the freezer today, so we have not had a chance to evaluate long term. The unit is quiet when operating. Controls & temp display on the outside of the door are convenient. No need to open the door to adjust or monitor the temperature. Door is a little hard to open because of the magnetic? door seal. A seal break style handle would be helpful for those with limited strength.
Was hoping the "door open" alarm would be louder (make it user adjustable?). Easy to level feet. Turbo freeze is handy for situations that call for a faster cool down (freezing leftover turkey?). Bought the Allstate 3 year extended warranty which extends the Costco 2 year warranty. Hope it's not needed, but 5 years of full protection for $90 seemed like good value. The glass shelving should be easier to clean than wire shelving. Can't comment on capacity as we have not loaded it up yet, but since it's the same size as our previous freezer, it should be plenty of space. Hoping for many years of trouble free service.

I purchased from Costco, the first one delivered had an issue with the control board right off the bat. It was cooling fine, -20F degrees, but didn't stop running, and high temp alarmed every 6 hours or so even though it was Siberia inside. So Costco replaced it. This one works perfectly. QUIET! I don't hear it running. Cools perfectly! Large with plenty of space! This freezer is awesome. I highly recommend!

The new freezer was installed today 12/8/2025 after being purchased from Costco.com Unit looks great following instructions setting to 0 degrees and waiting until tomorrow before putting food in the unit. Will also get a thermometer to monitor the temperature. Inside layout well done. Installers had to remove the door to get it to where we have installed. All worked out

I have had many freezers over the years and this one is the best I have owned. It's big and roomy and designed well. I love the glass shelves and drawers and door compartments. And it is very quiet. I also love that the controls are on the outside on the door. You don't have to open the door to adjust temp, etc.

So far this unit has operated fine, no issues. I do have two items I would like to see in future units.
1). I wish they would install a port or access through the back or side wall for my Freezer alarm probe.
2). I wish they would show the actual temperature of the inside of the freezer, when someone looks at the front display it shows the current set point and not the actual temperature inside the box. Someone may think they are looking at the temperature of the products inside and think everything is fine when in actuality there could be an issue. Just my take being a 50 year tradesmen with a strong refrigeration background.

Our new freezer takes up less space than a chest style freezer, is very quiet and holds everything I removed from my refrigerator but is easy to access because of the more than adequate space and shelving. Temperature remains stable and so far, the energy use has been minimal. We are glad we purchased the energy star model.

Our original 30+ year old freezer finally died & after research we purchased this GE model for its capacity, interior configuration & energy efficiency. We are very happy with the choice thus far. The digital temperature readout on the door is also very helpful.
